The Hazel tree is native to all of the British Isles and Europe, and to West Asia and North Africa. The Hazel is a deciduous tree growing to 6 m, but some cultivars are small shrubs or grow in hedges.

Corylus avellana blooms in December – April.

Allergon collects hazel in the south of Sweden.
